Tank Monitors

Load Controls PMP-25 supporting wastewater treatment process monitoring for reliable pump operation and system efficiency.

Knowing what's happening inside a tank without inserting instrumentation into the process fluid is a challenge across pharmaceutical, chemical, and food processing operations. Level changes, agitation conditions, and the presence or absence of product all affect the load on any motor-driven equipment connected to the tank.

Load Controls' power sensors monitor the motor load on agitators, mixers, and pumps connected to process tanks, providing continuous indirect monitoring of tank conditions through true power draw. A drop in agitator load signals a falling liquid level or a change in product density; a rise can indicate increased viscosity or a developing mechanical issue. For pump-fed tanks, our sensors detect when the tank is empty and the pump begins to run dry, triggering automatic shutdown before damage occurs. All sensors are non-invasive, install at the motor control panel, and are manufactured in the USA to ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Q: Can a Load Controls sensor replace a dedicated level sensor in a tank?

Our sensors provide indirect tank monitoring through motor load, detecting significant level changes and empty conditions reliably. For applications requiring precise level measurement, they complement rather than replace dedicated level instrumentation.

Q: Is tank monitoring suitable for hazardous or pressurised vessels?

Yes. Because our sensors work entirely from the motor control panel with no connection to the vessel itself, they are fully compatible with pressurised, hazardous, or sealed tank applications.

Q: What tank-connected equipment can be monitored?

Any motor-driven equipment connected to the tank - agitators, mixers, and pumps can be monitored using Load Controls sensors.
