Mixers

Wastewater treatment plant using Load Controls PMP-25 for pump monitoring, process control, and efficient water treatment.

Mixers and agitators in pharmaceutical manufacturing operate under strict consistency requirements - every batch must meet the same viscosity, homogeneity, and blend time standards, regardless of ingredient variation or environmental conditions. When a mixer motor works harder or eases off unexpectedly, it signals a real change inside the vessel.

Load Controls' motor power sensors capture that signal directly from the mixer's true power draw, translating it into a continuous, real-time picture of what's happening inside the batch. Rather than relying on manual sampling or inline probes that contact the product, our sensors work entirely from the electrical panel, detecting load deviations the moment they occur and triggering alerts or automatic responses before a batch is compromised. Because the sensors measure true power rather than just current, even subtle viscosity shifts that would go undetected by conventional monitoring are caught early. All sensors are manufactured in the USA to ISO 9001:2015 standards and output standard 0–10V, 4–20mA, and Modbus signals.

Q: Can Load Controls sensors be used in sterile or cleanroom pharmaceutical environments?

Yes. Our sensors install at the electrical panel, completely outside the process environment, fully compatible with sterile and cleanroom settings without contamination risk.

Q: How does a motor power sensor detect a change in mixing consistency?

As batch viscosity or density changes, the resistance on the mixer motor changes too, showing up as a measurable shift in true power draw. Our sensors track this in real time, alerting operators the moment the process deviates from its established load profile.

Q: Can the data be used for batch records or audit trails?

Yes. Our sensors output standard analog signals (0–10V, 4–20mA) and Modbus, which feed directly into your DCS, SCADA, or data historian for continuous batch documentation and audit-ready process records.
